The purpose of this meeting is to determine the priority of Policies which will be recommended for submission to the CPC National Convention being held in Halifax in August 2018.

It is important that everyone understand that all of the policy proposals are simply that – “Proposals” for discussion purposes. None of the proposals represents an approved Policy of the Conservative Party of Canada or of any Electoral District Association. You will notice that the 28 proposals are in somewhat different formats. Some arise from the September 25 discussion roundtables and are in an “ideas for consideration” format that will need some more work to be put in the form required by National Council. Others also came from the discussion roundtables at the September 25 meeting, but the scribes from those tables have put them into a form closer to what will be required (our thanks to those scribes for doing this). The final group of proposals are simply in the format as they were brought to the September 25 meeting already in written form by individual members.
The November 27 meeting is a follow up to the September 25, 2017 information meeting.
In order to establish priorities each proposal will be considered – briefly – by the meeting and Members will then vote by a show of hands. If a Policy proposal receives less than 50% of the votes present it will be eliminated. The Policy proposals that receive more than 50% of the votes present will be ranked in priority according to the number of votes received.
As indicated in the attached memorandum from National Council, the #1 top ranking policy proposal from this regional meeting will automatically go forward to the National Convention in Halifax.
We look forward to seeing you at the meeting on November 27.
